Funeral Service for Roxanne

Funeral Service for Roxanne

Sep 07, 2013

My family and I welcome anyone who wishes and is able to make the trip to join us for the celebration of Roxanne’s life. The arrangements for her funeral service are as follows:

It will be held day after tomorrow—Monday, September 9, at Groce Funeral Home. They have more than one location. Ours will be at 72 Long Shoals Rd., Arden, NC 28704. Arden is a southern suburb of Asheville. Their website is www.GroceFuneralHome.com. Phone 888-874-3535.

The visitation will be at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by my dear friend and brother in Christ, Kevin O’Connell. She will be interred immediately following the service at the Calvary Episcopal Church’s public cemetery at the corner of Hendersonville Road and Old Airport Road in Fletcher, NC, not far from the funeral home.

Roxanne loved fresh flowers—she always had some in our house—so if you want to send flowers, the family welcomes them. But do not feel in the least bit obligated or pressured to do so—only if you want to and can afford it.

Alternately, if you wish to make a donation to help cover the funeral, cemetery, and emergency expenses, as I had no life insurance or even burial insurance on Roxanne; then you can send it to me via postal mail (James W. Bruggeman, PO Box 5695, Asheville, NC 28813.) Or you can donate via PayPal with a notation/comment “for Roxanne.”

I am in a blur with getting everything arranged, so perhaps I will share some thoughts and feelings about my precious wife in a later blog. Thank you for your support in prayers, for those of you providing logistical support these few days, and for flowers and donations from those who wish.
